Jen Meyer_web

Jennifer Meyer, M.D.

Jennifer Meyer was born in St. Louis but grew up in Wisconsin. She received her undergraduate degree in 2001 from St. Louis University. In 2005 she graduated from St. Louis University Medical School where she received numerous awards including entry into the Alpha Omega Alpha National Honor Medical Society. Dr. Meyer completed her internship and residency at Barnes Jewish Hospital/Washington University in 2009 where she was awarded with Excellence in Laparoscopy.

She currently is a fellow of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology and has been board certified since 2011. Dr. Meyer has been in private practice in St. Louis since 2009 and will be new to Womens Care Consultants as of 2014. She has been consistently listed as a Best Doctor in the St. Louis Magazine since 2011.

She has a passion for following evidence based medicine. Preconception counseling, contraceptive options, immunization guidelines, and weight gain and exercise in pregnancy are just a few of Dr. Meyers special interests.

She is happily married to Greg and a mom of three children, Maddie, Nolan, and Emerson. Though she is a working mom she continues to deliver at least 95% of her pregnant patients. She is a proponent of the minimal use of episiotomies, labor inductions, and assisted deliveries.


John Appelbaum_web

John K. Appelbaum, M.D.

Born and raised in St. Louis, Dr. Appelbaum received his undergraduate degree at St. Louis University and his MD at Washington Univ. School of Medicine. He did his OB/GYN residency at Washington University Medical Center. Dr. Appelbaum was formerly associated with Esse Health. He began Women’s Care Consultants, LLC in 1998. Dr. Appelbaum has been board certified since 1991 and is a fellow with the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology.

 

 

 

 


 

Gigi Streiff_web

Maria (Gigi) Maminta-Streiff, M.D.

Dr. Gigi Maminta-Streiff has served the community through her OB-GYN practice for the past 24 years. After delivering babies for many years, her primary focus has recently shifted to Gynecology.

Dr. Streiff was originally born in Manila, Philippines and immigrated with her family to St. Louis in the 1960’s. She is proud to have been raised in St. Louis, growing up in Brentwood and Chesterfield. Her bachelor’s degree was received from “Mizzou”, the University of Missouri-Columbia. She then returned to the Philippines for medical school. She completed her residency and graduated with an honor of “most compassionate” resident from St. Louis University Medical school. Dr. Streiff is a Fellow in the American College of Ob-Gyn and serves on the volunteer faculty of Washington University School of Medicine.

Dr Streiff’s practice focus is now gynecology. Her special interests include female health and wellbeing, menstrual irregularities, preconceptual care, polycystic ovarian syndrome, uterine fibroids, abnormal Pap tests, perimenopausal and menopausal symptoms, as well as bio-identical hormone therapy. She has considerable experience with the newest contraceptive technologies, endometrial ablation, minimally- invasive laparoscopic hysterectomies and laparoscopic removal of ovaries, including DaVinci robotic surgery.

Dr. Streiff thanks the women of St. Louis and the surrounding communities for their continued support of her practice, it continues to be her passion and honor to serve as their physician.


Tim Philpott_web

Timothy C. Philpott, M.D.

Born and raised in St. Louis, Dr. Philpott first received a BA from Carleton College in Northfield, MN in 1987. He received his MD from Washington University School of Medicine in 1994 where he was awarded the Samuel Soule Award for Excellence in OB/GYN. He completed OB/GYN residency at Barnes Hospital/Washington University in 1998. He was awarded First Place in the Resident Research Project and received the Excellence in Laparoscopy Award. He has been Board Certified in OB/GYN since 2001. Dr. Philpott was a founding member of Women’s Care Consultants in 1998.

He is currently a Fellow in the American Congress of Obstetrics and Gynecology and a member of the volunteer clinical faculty in the Department of OB/GYN at Washington University. He has been listed in the Best Doctors edition of St. Louis magazine annually since 2005.

Dr. Philpott specializes in the area of minimally invasive/laparoscopic gynecologic surgery, including da Vinci robotic hysterectomy, myomectomy and treatment of pelvic organ prolapse. He performs outpatient hysteroscopic procedures including Essure permanent contraception, Endometrial Ablation and removal of fibroids and polyps.

Dr. Philpott commits much of his time to caring for his pregnant patients.  He is a general obstetrician with special interests in vaginal birth after c-section (VBAC), reducing the incidence of episiotomy and proper timing of labor induction.  He personally delivers 95% of his own patients.


Angela Reining_web

Angela Reining, M.D.

Angela Reining was born in Wisconsin and raised in Northern Illinois. She received her undergraduate education at Illinois Wesleyan University before graduating from medical school at the University of Illinois in Champaign-Urbana where she received the Granville Bennett Award for Excellence in OB/GYN. Dr. Reining completed her internship and residency at Barnes Jewish Hospital/Washington University in 2007. She has been board certified since 2009. Dr. Reining has been in private practice since 2007 and joined Women’s Care Consultants in 2011.

Dr. Reining is a Fellow in the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology. She is listed as a “Best Doctor” in the St. Louis magazine.

She has special interests in working with teen patients, managing abnormal bleeding and treating infertility and polycystic ovarian syndrome. Dr. Reining is trained in minimally invasive laparoscopic surgery.

Though she is a working mom, Dr. Reining continues to deliver 95% of her pregnant patients. She is a proponent of natural (unmedicated) childbirth, Vaginal Birth after Cesarean, and minimal labor intervention.


Terri Sippel_web

Terri Sippel, WHNP

Terri was born and raised in St. Louis. She received her Bachelors of Science in Nursing degree from St. Louis University in 1994. She then worked as a nurse on the Labor and Delivery unit for 6 years. While working Labor and Delivery, Terri completed her Master of Science in Nursing degree, in the year 2000, from the University of Missouri-St. Louis. Terri is accredited through The National Certification Corporation(NCC) as a Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner. She has been practicing WHNP at Women’s Care Consultants since 2000. Terri has been married to Ray since 1998 and they have 3 sons.

 


 

Marla Smith_web

Marla Smith, WHNP

Born and raised in Southern IL, Marla first received a BS from Jewish Hospital College of Nursing in 2001. She received her Master’s Degree of Science and Nursing from the University of Missouri St. Louis in 2007. In addition, she has completed a Preceptorship in Women’s Health and is accredited through the National Certification Corporation. She joined Women’s Care Consultants in 2007. In addition to working at Women’s Care Consultants, Marla opened her own practice in 2009 in Waterloo, IL where she resides. She has also worked Labor and Delivery at Missouri Baptist for 17 years. She is married and has 2 daughters, Alexandra and Peyton.
